RECIPE: Chocolate and Hazelnut Cake

As promised, here it is…..This is honestly so easy to make, it’s pretty much and all in one cake so there’s very little cleaning up too!! 😊 Perfect thing to do on a Sunday afternoon!!
Ingredients
For the cake:
•1 Cup of flour
•1 Cup of sugar
•1/2 Cup of Cocoa (unsweetened)
•1 Tsp of Baking Powder
•1/4 Tsp of Salt
•3/4 Cup of Milk
•1/4 Cup of Margarine/Real Butter
•1 Tsp of Vanilla
•1 Egg
For the icing:
Generous helping of Nutella
1/2 Cup of Cream
Handful of hazelnuts crushed roughly
Chocolate to melt (I used galaxy and milkybar)
Method:
Grease and line 2 round tins. (I use 8 x 1 inch)

Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt.

Add in milk, marge/butter and vanilla.

Beat with electric mixer on a low speed until all combined.

Beat for a further 2 mins on medium.

Add in egg and continue beating for 2 more minutes.

Pour in prepared tins.

Bake at 180 for 35-40mins. 

Cool on wire rack for 10 mins, then remove from tins and cool thoroughly.

For the icing:
Melt Nutella and beat in cream – beat on high speed for 2 mins.

Melt the extra chocolate and spread out on greaseproof paper, allow to harden or blend white and milk chocolate and then allow to harden.

Once cake is cooled spread Nutella mix on top of one cake, put second on top and spread almost the rest of Nutella mix on top, sprinkle nuts on top (I added some to the middle of the cake too) and drizzle last of Nutella mix on top to decorate and voilà!!
